Gent, Belgium (Shopping Centre & apartments)
"Forum Overpoort" is an inner-city shopping centre located in Ghent and has 3,600 m² lettable space divided into 7 units and a student house of 119 partially furnished rooms. The Albert Heijn supermarket is the anchor tenant.
The building, which was designated a new purpose, was the former restaurant of the University of Ghent. Built in the early 1970s, with a structure of steel portals, concrete slabs and glazed curtain walls, it was characterized as one of the first 'modernist' buildings of the city. The business concept is based on the proximity and the diversity of both students and local public.
It was redeveloped in 2013/2014 and transferred to the investment portfolio by mid-2014.
