In Arnhem, Wereldhave is refurbishing its shopping centre. The introduction a fresh food mall is part of these plans to renovate the Kronenburg shopping centre and several stores were relocated to create the mall. The food mall now houses approximately 6,000 m² retail floor space with supermarkets and specialty stores, amongst which an Albert Heijn XL, Ekoplaza, Keurslager De Haas (butcher), Volendammer Vishandel de Vakman (fishmonger), het Kippaleis (poulterer) and Deli-licious. The latter opened its doors on June 13, 2014 and is the latest addition to the centre.
The renovation of Kronenburg consists of the creation of new and renovated courts, new floors, lighting and shop fronts. On June 22, 2014, McDonalds re-opened its doors on the new food court. Wereldhave is adding a broad range of facilities to the centre, including public toilets and a baby nursing room. A kids playground is under construction just opposite the new ANWB store, and an interactive floor projection will be one of the attractions. The renovation works will continue during the second half of the year.
